"Why I'm No Longer a Brain-Dead Liberal"
An election-season essay from one of America's greatest playwrights.

If you've got a bit of residual World Cup fever, pick up a bottle of Moretti beer to wash down a double dose of soccer action with a special double-header of the world's most popular sport (sorry, NFL players, NASCAR drivers and synchronized swimmers). First, Houston's newest sports team, the Dynamo, moves up to Reliant Stadium from its usual home turf of Robertson Stadium for a game against defending Major League Soccer champions the Los Angeles Galaxy. Following that battle comes the main event, a friendship match pitting Mexico's Club America against Spain's FC Barcelona. Both are champions of their regions' respective leagues, and the Barcelona boys feature Fédération Internationale de Football Association World Player of the Year and Euro-teen idol Ronaldinho Gaúcho -- who, if he wants to keep his integrity, will not head-butt any of his opponents. We wouldn't want a repeat of the incident that cost France the World Cup, especially given the temperament of soccer fans gathered in large groups.
