Never been to the Houston Theater District? Then today’s Theater District Open House 2007 is for you. Already a seasoned performing arts fan? The Open House is for you, too. Now in its 14th year, the Open House includes nine of Houston’s professional performing arts companies and four different venues. Each company will have a sampling of its upcoming season, with mini-performances and presentations. Among the performers will be Houston Grand Opera Studio musicians, the Sam Dinkins III Quartet and the Houston Chamber Choir. Kaminira Taiko, along with members from the Houston Ballet, and the Houston Symphony will also perform. This year, Open House visitors can also enjoy a free 30-minute tour of Buffalo Bayou’s waterfront park, the Sabine-to-Bagby Promenade, on a pontoon boat. Visitors will be able to pick up performance schedules, and, perhaps more importantly, discount season ticket packages.
