What becomes a gossip columnist most?

    By Michael Musto

Morning rush hour around downtown Houston usually doesn’t start until around 7 a.m., but for one day a year it begins considerably earlier — and the streets are filled with bikes instead of cars. The 35th annual Moonlight Bicycle Ramble takes pedal pushers along two courses — an eight-mile or a 20-mile one — through the city. With the Ramble’s middle-of-the-night start time, riders see an otherworldly downtown, lit by stars and shrouded in the predawn mist. A word of warning: Leave those sports bottles filled with Jack Daniels at home. There’s no drinking and driving, er, riding, allowed. 2 a.m. start time (actually, in the wee hours of Sunday morning). George R. Brown Convention Center, 1001 Avenida de las Americas. For information, call 713-222-BIKE or visit www.bikehouston.org. $15 per person; $50 per family.
