Christmastime in Houston always brings out the perennial holiday shows — A Christmas Carol at the Alley, The Nutcracker from Houston Ballet, and the slightly more localized A Fertle Holiday from Radio Music Theatre. In fact, this marks the 23rd year that theatergoers have been privy to the hilarious holiday gathering of the singing Fertle Family of Dumpster, Texas, with all characters played by RMT’s multifaceted (and multi-faced) troupe of Steve and Vicki Farrell and Rich Mills. The show involves the return of estranged and rich daughter Carol Fertle, who brings her husband and gay teenage son to the Christmas family reunion. But don’t expect the same script from the original 1985 show. “We’ve done the show so many times, we feel comfortable playing with it, changing lines and interpretations,” Steve Farrell says. “So people who’ve seen it before appreciate the subtle differences.” 8:30 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Saturdays. 2623 Colquitt Street. Through January 19, 2008. For information, call 713-522-7722 or visit www.radiomusictheatre.com. $22.
Thursdays, Fridays, 8:30 p.m.; Saturdays, 8 & 10:30 p.m. Starts: Nov. 23. Continues through Jan. 12, 2007
