Houston’s most devoted ballet fans probably can’t remember a time when the name Dominic Walsh wasn’t at the forefront of the local scene, so it may come as a surprise to learn that his company, the Dominic Walsh Dance Theater, is only five years old (he founded it in 2002 after 15 years with the Houston Ballet). To celebrate, the company is offering the mixed repertory program Moving Bodies — Moving Minds, which looks back at DWDT’s brief but rich history while setting the tone for the future.

The night includes the premiere of Double You, from the contemporary Czech choreographer Jirí Kylián, an expressive solo that Walsh will perform (alternating with company member Domenico Luciano). The event will also feature two numbers created by the prolific Walsh, both of which will prove that while still young, he and his crew are as mature as they come. 7:30 p.m. Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, 800 Bagby. For information, call 713-315-2525 or visit www.dwdt.org. $17 to $42.
